Drive pricing is up

I guess this is a little late, since we technically launched a few days ago but it doesnt really matter. I hope that drive pricing will be useful to some people, I know it is for me and that is the reason I created it. With the way gas prices are changing these days it seemed logical to have a tool to show a good estimate of what you pay to drive where you drive every day (even if it hurts to see sometimes) I have alot of features planned so I hope you stay tuned. Thanks to all the feedback received so far and please keep it coming.

does this only do US cities? what about Canadian locations?

Hey Ben,

Unfortunately at the moment I can only source prices for US zipcodes. I am working on finding a source for Canada as well.

I just wanted to say this is very cool. It would be even cooler if it took the average gas prices along your route into account. If you're planning a long road trip, this could make a difference.

Hey Sue,

That feature is in the works... well Ok not in the works yet but in the plans to be in the works... Keep checking back.

Nice tool...I've used it a couple of times so far. Since it seems to only grab the cost of fuel at origin it would be nice to have the option to just plug in the total miles. Once you let it calculate the point to point total, it would be nice to just play with the total miles a bit based on known details about your trip.

Looks nice guys - but like a few other posters - average price along the route, and canadian cities woudl be tops in my list :D

not sure where you are getting your prices from, but gasbuddy.com has all of canada and the US covered.

Is there something in the works to calculate tolls as well?

Unfortunately, the price is being displayed for me in a foreign currency...not dollars...

You should add in a parameter for maximum amount of fuel a car can carry this way when calculating long trips it will factor in the pricing for the region.

Hello. Thanks for the useful site.

It would help me and countless others if you can allow us to adjust the route and allow adding some via points etc.

For instance, I take the route suggested by Google's 'Avoid Highways' option, and would be terrific if you can calculate the cost of the trip for such routes.

If that is not possible, simply allow us to add via points, which will serve the purpose.

Thanks again.
